76 — Is Blockchain the new truth?

What I am afraid about this new truth called blockchain.

Since the beginning of mankind, we are looking for real questions about our life. I am not talking about life and death; this is a very trivial question but the main question in everyday life is what is good and what is evil.

The Blockchain mechanism was created in the early days of 2009 and like the great majority of long life ideas in this world, a new idea (tangible or otherwise) always comes silently, slowly, sneaky, and self-sustainable.

As big as the great question of mankind “Why is There Something Instead of Nothing?”, we do concentrate to answer another dilemma. Why we don’t do good things instead of bad things? This is the question blockchain is up to answer in the future.

This mechanism was probably created to guarantee that there is no doubt that something is one thing instead of another and eliminate fraud. Computers are good at that.

Suppose we have a mechanism that as much we do use it more reliable it is. Mankind is hungry to know who is reliable and who is not. Who will answer this question? Blockchain? The owners of the greatest blockchain on the Earth? Can you notice a simple idea, like nuclear fission or blockchain could be dangerous if used in the wrong way?

I am too afraid.

People are anxious to know what is the best choice and if there is a “correct” way to do things. If I say blockchain is the answer, what would you do? Get into the chain or outside the chain?

Will there be in the future no longer the division between progressive and conservative but rather people inside and outside the chain?

There are many questions in this essay, I know. There is one more in infinite possibilities I want to expose. Here it is:

Imagine that, in the future, governments from all around the world would make a deal to use a unique blockchain technology to deal with property. Blockchain as an inquestionable mechanism will say what can be done and what can not be done. Blockchain will say if this house is yours or not if your transaction is legal or illegal.

I can’t deal with the innumerable implications this approach could lead. Of course, it is a dystopian exercise. It could lead to ten decades or two years. We must be prepared for this scenario. This is a completely plausible outline. Would you agree with me?

Is blockchain the architecture of trust or the architecture of truth?

Give me your thoughts.
